An investigation has been launched by WorkSafe into a Geraldton playground after a five-year-old lost his toe on a metal merry-go-round.

Jeager Verryt’s mum Ebony said he was playing with a group of other children before the traumatising incident happened.

“I jumped up and ran over, and saw the amount of blood that was trialing behind the guy carrying him,” Ms Verryt said.

“I looked down and he had one less toe.”
