Woman waiting to be vaccinated denied refund to Wizard of Oz

A Perth woman yet to be fully vaccinated due to her underlying health conditions has been denied a refund to the Wizard of Oz.
Proof of vaccination requirements came into effect in the Perth and Peel regions last week, with pubs, nightclubs, and events with over a 500 capacity subject to the requirements.
However, Kelly made the booking when the government vaccination requirements were not in place.
“I was getting my vaccination over the Christmas break because I have some underlying health issues and I wanted to make sure if I was unwell I was on my holiday,” she said on 6PR Breakfast.
“So I then I actually got a virus, so I couldn’t get the vaccination, and then I did have it, so I’ve only had the first vaccination.”
Trish Blake, Director of Retail and Services Consumer Protection, says event organisers need to understanding of people’s circumstances
“We’re also saying to them, and other event organisers … is be reasonable,” she said on 6PR Breakfast.
“We’re asking them to be reasonable particularly in situations like with Kelly … there were genuine reasons for not being able to (get vaccinated).
“Then we would be asking them to be flexible and to offer refunds in exception circumstances.”
