Will the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle return?

Article image for Will the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle return?

A rumour to the Rumour File says the Bunnings sausage sizzle is set to return next month with a local fundraising group able to confirm a booking with their local store.

The Wanneroo Sports and Social Club has booked their snag sale for August 8 at the Wangara store, but there is some extra rules surrounding COVID health regulations.

Campbell Pudney says he knows things could change between now and then, but they are hopeful the much needed fundraiser will go ahead.

“[It’s] a huge thing.
“It doesn’t mean very much to the public but it makes a huge difference to the local sporting clubs,” Mr Pudney told 6PR Breakfast.

Bunnings Chief Operating Officer, Deb Poole, said in a statement to 6PR:

  • We know people are missing our community sausage sizzles and we are working on a careful plan to bring them back in places where restrictions have eased.
  • We are consulting with governments and our charity partners to ensure we bring them back in a way that’s safe for everyone.
  • We hope to have them back up and running in WA towards the end of the month pending final checks and consultation.
