Why youths are drinking less than their parents’ generation

Young people in Australia are drinking significantly less alcohol on average than their parents’ generation.
It’s a trend that pre-dates the pandemic, but data indicates COVID-19 has driven rates even lower.
Associate Professor at La Trobe University Sarah MacLean told Karalee Katsambanis differences in technology and political climate are at play.
“It’s something that young people in high income countries have to worry about and are concerned about happening.”
