Why you should have more garlic in your diet
A lot has been said over the years about the benefits and healing properties of garlic.
Chair of the Garlic Industry Association, John Olliff, believes more research needs to be done to determine the health benefits in full.
But he said it’s no secret about its benefits.
“Theres’s been a lot of historical, anecdotal evidence about the health benefits of garlic, some of it attributed to its anti-inflammatory capabilities, some of it to do with cardiovascular health, some of it to do with reducing blood pressure,” he told 6PR Mornings.
He said cooking garlic can deteriorate some of the medicinal values.
“If you’re looking for better health properties of garlic, eat it raw.”
He also suggested sourcing garlic from local, Australian producers!
