The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has announced its decision to reduce the size of maximum packs of Panadol and other paracetamol medication in an attempt to limit the number of overdoses.

A TGA report found that 225 Australians are hospitalised and 50 people die from paracetamol overdoses each year.

CEO of Pain Australia Giulia Jones says we are headed down a track of control.

“It’s not a new thing – we’ve had codeine limited in 2019, opioids in 2020 and now the TGA are going after Panadol – so we’ve asked them to be reasonable,” Ms Jones said on 6PR Breakfast.
