Why Oly believes the WA government should invest in hosting international events

Jamie Burnett

Western Australia’s Optus Stadium and South Australia’s Adelaide Oval are front runners to host one of the British and Irish Lions rugby tests in 2025.

However, the South Australian premier has promised a $13 million grant to Rugby Australia if the match is held at Adelaide Oval.

After the success of Gather Round, there are calls for WA to invest more into hosting events such as the British and Irish Lions rugby test.

Oliver Peterson believes the government should invest more to bring major events to Perth.

“I think we should pay up… I think the WA government must land a British and Irish Lions test,” said Oly.
