With the rise of online marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree, small antique stores are struggling to stay afloat.

Owner of Rustic Gallery in Bellevue Rob O’Brien told 6PR Afternoons his business is suffering.

“It’s an online addiction,” said Mr O’Brien.

“A large number of shoppers have deserted the shop.”
