There are concerns about the number of young people vaping, with West Australian public schools issuing 3732 suspensions for vaping last year.

Experts are concerned about the availability and the lack of regulation around the vape’s contents.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital respiratory physician Dr John Blakey told 6PR Afternoons vaping is a “very concerning” trend.

“It’s not entirely clear what’s in these liquids,” said Dr Blakey.

“People haven’t been doing it for long enough for us to see those effects in 10, 20 years’ time.”
