Why experts are concerned over children favouring short-form videos

Research has found more children are favouring YouTube Shorts over other platforms resulting in concerns from experts over the video format’s impact on developing children.
Director at the institute of child protection studies at the Australian Catholic University, Professor Daryl Higgens, says short-form videos could be impacting children’s attention and ability to focus.
“There are three broad areas that I think are more concerning. The first one is the way in which many of these short form videos end up promoting toxic views about body image,” he told 6PR Breakfast.
