Natalya Diehm finished with bronze in the women’s BMX freestyle at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and it was Australian commentator Mitch Tomlinson who made the theatrical call. 

The Nine Skateboard and BMX Freestyle commentator spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-Anne Sprague about his passionate delivery of the historic moment which saw Diehm become the first Australian woman to win an Olympic medal in the BMX freestyle. 

“It was the first run that got her the podium finish in the end,” Mr Tomlinson said.
