There are calls for the Federal Government to better support struggling migrants to secure skilled work and residency.

Long wait times for visas and low rental vacancies are making it challenging for migrants to settle in Australia.

Former deputy secretary for the Immigration Department Dr Abul Rizvi told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live Australia’s system doesn’t support migrants.

“Our migration process hasn’t worked for years,” said Dr Rizvi.
