The tragic death of a young police officer at a private function has lead to an outpouring of support and sympathy.

The incident – involving a 29-year old – officer – happened off-duty, and is not related to policing.

“He was a young man with his whole life ahead of him… it’s just tragic,” Police Commissioner Col Blanch said.

“Everything was done to save him, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
