A now-viral photo of a flood-ridden Queensland pub has showcased the resilience of Australians in the face of adversity… or at least our want to drink beer.

Hotel ueramo is between Townsville and Port Douglas on the Cassowary Coast, and has become a safe haven for many in the small rural community.

Publican Alex Muzic told Lachy and Mick onĀ 6PR Breakfast what started as a normal Sunday ended with an impromptu gathering.
