Western Bulldogs embroiled in explosive betting scandal after group backs club to lose

The Western Bulldogs are embroiled in an explosive betting scandal after a group of people, including players, allegedly backed the Bulldogs to lose last weekend.
The club released a statement a short time ago saying they had self reported to the AFL’s integrity unit.
It is alleged the group, containing an AFL listed and VFL listed player, successfully backed the club to lose to Melbourne in last weekend’s NAB Challenge clash at Ballarat.
The Demons won by seven points.
"We’re hearing one player, in particular, will be scrutinised very heavily," Nathan Templeton said on 3AW.
"This is about as serious as it gets."
