Local government officials have had a win pushing back on Western Power’s proposed 43.85% street lighting price hike.

WALGA President Karen Chappel told Oliver Peterson on 6PR Perth Live intervention from the Economic Regulation Authority ensured there will only be an increase of 7.5%.

“This is why it’s so important to have an independent regulator and have the opportunity to respond when we have these cost rises attempted to be put upon us,” Ms Chappel said.
