Transport Minister Rita Saffioti says between 3000-5000 WA Optus customers who had their drivers’ licence details and card numbers on the back of them stolen will be made a priority.

“Getting new driver licence numbers will take a while, as they need to go through a process,” she told stand-in Breakfast co-hosts Lisa Barnes and Mark Gibson.

Saffioti says a text Optus sent to affected customers on Sunday did not help the government prepare Transport centres with extra staffing.
