UPDATE: The Education Department has now confirmed the below positions have been filled and the school is fully staffed ahead of the new school year.

Today Perth Live received a Word on the Street that Carnarvon Community College is looking for seven teachers only a week out from school returning.

This comes as over 150 teaching positions are currently advertised on the Department of Education, despite schools returning next week.

North West Central MP Meme Beard told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live Carnarvon is in desperate need of experienced teachers.

“Some of the situations that these teachers face are extremely challenging,” said Ms Beard.
