More than 58,000 WA students are now missing the equivalent of one day a week from school.

Liam Staltari, Shadow Minister for Education, explained to 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that the issue is worsening, with the drop being even more significant amongst Indigenous students.

Staltari warned: “If kids aren’t in school or if their not learning in some way then over time their long-term opportunity, their economic prospects, their chance for a good life take a hit,” he said.
