WA schoolies praised for their behaviour but police have one final warning

leavers

Parents across the state are breathing a sigh of relief while this year’s Leavers cohort has been praised by WA Police for their exceptional behaviour as the week’s annual schoolies celebrations come to a close in our South West.

South West District Superintendent Geoff Stewart says he was incredibly happy with the week, with no drink driving offences, but urged parents to check in with their kids before exiting the region as the roads were wet today.

“It’s been good, it’s required minimal enforcements, the cohort has been very good,” he told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy & Karl.

‘The comments from around the community has been respectfulness… each year it’s a different group of leavers that come down, this one had probably been the best in quite a while.

“Now we got a bunch of tired people thinking of going home, so parents make sure they’re not tired and to take care on the roads.”
