Article image for WA moves to high case load protocols
Today, the McGowan Government announced that from tomorrow, new COVID protocols will come into effect across WA.

Beginning tomorrow, those in the same household or in close proximity to an infectious person will only need to self-quarantine for seven days. Anyone in close proximity to a positive case will also need to isolate.

Casual contacts will no longer be considered. Additionally, Rapid Antigen Tests will be able to be used more broadly but PCR tests remain the preferred option.

Former Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Nick Coatsworth joined Perth Live.

New guidelines for schools including shortened isolation periods will also take effect tomorrow.

Education Minister Sue Ellery spoke with Oly.
