In next year’s state election, the WA Liberals plan to overturn the ban on future uranium mining leases if elected.

WA Liberal Leader Libby Mettam joined Oliver Peterson on Perth Live to discuss the reasoning behind the decision to overturn the ban on uranium mining.

“I think Labor’s ideological ban has seen already a significant opportunity lost in Western Australia.”

“We have an opportunity and a responsibility as a state to use the resources we have here to assist other jurisdictions and countries in the world to lower emissions and decarbonise,” Ms Mettam said.
