Firefighters coming off night shift stood united outside of every metropolitan and country fire station in a bid to raise public awareness of the diminution and erosion of the Career Fire and Rescue Service. 

President of the United Professional Firefighters Union WA, Clem Chan, says the protest is not about pay.

“Our firefighters are over it because of the state resourcing within the department,” Mr Chan told Millsy and Karl.

“There were 10 new trucks that were promised last year in June, they’re still not on the road.”
