Leaders from Perth’s Muslim, Buddhist, Bahá’í, Jewish, Hindu and Christian communities are gathering for a combined service today, calling on the Federal Government to take stronger commitments ahead of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference next month.

The coalition of WA faith leaders want leaders to push for no new coal or gas at the COP27 summit.

ARRCC’s Geoffrey Bice told 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker a multi-faith climate service will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral in Victoria Square in Perth at 9.30am today to show there is broad support for their climate action.

“We need to be moving away from fossil fuels, and that includes not approving any new coal or gas projects,” he told Parker.
