WA faces a traffic warden shortage, jeopardizing children’s safety

Perth is reportedly experiencing a shortage of traffic wardens, leading to concerns about increased risks for schoolchildren.

Teresa Lions, Mayor of the City of Gosnells, informed Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that due to unconventional hours and low pay, schools are struggling to fill these positions, creating unnecessary hazards.
“We have huge issues with parking around our schools, and that is probably because parents don’t feel confident in letting their children walk to school because they might not have safe passage,” she said.
