AUSTSWIM has lowered the age of its swim teacher license to 16 years old in a bid to battle the nationwide shortage of swim teachers.

AUSTSWIM CEO Brad Low told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead the shortage is stopping children from learning how to swim and water safety.

“There is a critical skills shortage in the industry,” said Mr Low.

“Some swim schools have waitlists of over 300 people.” He continued.
