US war general says Biden, Zelensky ‘not on same page’

As the terrible loss of life continues in Ukraine, with no sign of reprieve after a month of war, the US officially determined Russian forces have committed war crimes and vowed to hold president Vladimir Putin accountable, including pursuing criminal prosecutions.
General Jack Keane is a retired 4 star general, and former Vice Chief of Staff of the US Army and serves as chairman of the Institute for the Study of War who remains closely connected to the Pentagon.
He is critical of the US’s current stance and says labelling Putin a war criminal is significant but not enough, as US President Joe Biden attends an emergency G7 war strategy meeting in Brussels today.
Although he believed President Biden and Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky were not on the same page regarding strategy, Russia was still struggling.
“We’re stalemated, the ground attack is effectively halted… their main effort is Kyiv and they’re not able to bring their artillery into range and surround the city so the artillery can hammer it,” he told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings.
“That clearly is a sign they’ve lost their operational momentum.”
