Urgent calls for action as Aussie kids lead the world in junk food intake

A concerning report reveals that one-third of Australian children are overweight or obese, with the nation’s children also leading the world in ultra-processed food consumption.

Speaking to Perth Live host Russel Collett, Dr Phil Baker from the University of Sydney’s School of Public Health stated that UNICEF is urging the government to quickly enforce strict controls on junk food marketing.
He added, “We’ve now reached a point in history where there are more overweight and obese kids in the world than there are underweight kids.”
