Unique mobile hospital rushes to Exmouth for urgent wildlife aid
Ex-tropical Cyclone Narelle had a devastating impact on the wildlife in Exmouth and the surrounding areas, but relief is on its way.

Dr Stephen Van Mil, Founder, Director, and CEO of Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, explained to 6PR Mornings host Russel Collett that Matilda, a 22-wheel mobile wildlife hospital truck and the first of its kind in Australia, is making its urgent journey to Exmouth to assist locals caring for the animals in need.
“It’s heartbreaking, actually, baby dolphins have been washed up, stranded and died, she’s been dealing with hundreds and hundreds of sea snakes, numerous species of marine birds and hundreds and hundreds of sea turtle hatchlings, and that’s just for starters,” he said.
