The State’s Transport Minister believes Perth customers will be the big winners in the largest transport shakeup in more than two decades.

The first stage of legislation, which will legalise ride sharing services like Uber, is being presented to State Parliament today.

It includes $20 000 compensation for those who purchased taxi plates before December 18, 2015.

Dean Nalder has told Bob Maumill on the 6PR Morning Show, another aspect of the reforms will make rank-and-hail services exclusive to taxis.
