Childhood friends Bronwen Bock and Lucy Bradlow may be the first politicians to run together as one candidate in the next federal election.

The duo are set on the seat of Higgins in Victoria, planning a week on week off schedule.

Constitutional Law Professor from the University of Canberra Kim Rubenstein told Millsy & Karl on 6PR Breakfast this does not change the framework or cost tax payers more but should be an option as they are getting a collective wisdom.

“If we look at the nature of our society today with so many people working part time, there is a sense that those people aren’t properly represented and to have two people who are opting to share that role and model job sharing for that nation is in fact affirming of our constitutional underpinnings,” Rubenstein said.
