A rescue heliopter in Florida has crashed into an apartment complex, leaving two dead.

6PR and Nine News correspondent Alison Piotrowski told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast some managed to escape the complex, despite the crash causing a large blaze.

“The tail appeared to come off the chopper, and it has landed in a relatively small apartment complex,” Ms Piotrowski said.

“But in that complex it’s left a giant crater.”
