The town of Cambridge staff will be implementing a “no fishing” zone in a bid to end shark fishing.

Town of Cambridge Mayor Keri Shannon told 6PR Afternoons shark fishing is putting lives at risk by attracting large sharks.

“It’s a really unsafe combination,” said Ms Shannon.

“This is the only way we believe we can safely protect swimmers and beach users.”
