Tina Turner dies aged 83

Legendary American singer Tina Turner has died aged 83.
She died peacefully after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, her representative said.
Turner was one of the top recording artists of all time and was known for hits such as What’s Love Got To Do With It and The Best.
Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Mick on 6PR Breakfast Australia was a particularly important country to Turner’s career, especially in the context of her musical comeback.

“There’s an emotional connection to Tina because she bounced back,” Mr Ford said.
“She became a solo star at the age 0f 44; that was unheard of at the time.”

Turner’s family released the following statement:
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”
