WA’s new gun laws transitional period has expired, leading WA Police to deploy officers to retrieve firearms from the 3,000 people who have not complied.

Police Commissioner Col Blanch explained to 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that over 60,000 West Australians have successfully transitioned to their new licenses, but for the remaining group, there is no longer any valid excuse.

“It is now the time that we will have to go and take those firearms and suspend their license,” he said.
