The Cannington racetrack, managed by Greyhounds WA, saw three dogs killed in a single day of racing.

Jemma Fittock, Vice President of Free the Hounds, told Perth Today that the total number of dogs killed in WA this year, either during or soon after racing, has reached 40.

“This is a predictable outcome when dogs are running at high speed colliding into each other running around bends,” she said.

Racing and Wagering WA and Greyhounds WA have so far declined to comment.
