The AFL has been urged to intervene after Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge launched an extraordinary attack on a reporter after the Bulldogs lost to Melbourne in a grand final rematch at the MCG on Thursday night.

Beveridge’s verbal attack on Tom Morris came after the Fox Footy journalist accurately reported earlier in the week midfielder Lachie Hunter would not be picked for the clash, which his team lost by 26 points.

“You’re an embarrassment to what you do,” Beveridge said among other things, which prompted widespread condemnation from respected media figures from a variety of outlets.

Nine News Perth and 6PR sports reporter Paddy Sweeney told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast this was not the first time Beveridge has had it out with Morris.
