WA’s share of the GST is under intense scrutiny as the submission period for the Productivity Commission’s review closes.

Speaking to 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett, Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti expressed confidence that the Prime Minister and Federal Treasurer will honour their promise to keep WA’s GST intact, despite a loud protest from the Eastern States.

“We need to continue to support the WA economy because it plays such a big role in the national economy,” she said, though she conceded the GST formula itself is highly flawed.
