The City of Stirling council has voted to progress a change in local laws that would formally prohibit fishing in 16 lakes and wetlands across the City of Stirling.

The decision has angered 6PR Breakfast host Karl Langdon, who argues the move was prompted by reports of animal cruelty stemming from minors allegedly hooking black swans.

“What they need to do in the city of Stirling is be a little bit more proactive, shut down these people that are doing the wrong thing and let the others that are doing the right thing continue to enjoy the environment,” he said
