The Western Australian Police Union is calling on the state government to make police vehicle ramming a specific criminal offence.

Acting President of the WA Police Union Paul Gale told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live ramming is becoming a major safety issue for officers.

“In 2022, we had 15 officers involved in a ramming incident,” said Mr Gale.

“These are weapons these vehicles.”
