Mark McGowan was interrogated on the issue of MPs accepting gifts and hospitality as Tabcorp gifted two Labor Ministers and 3 MPs tickets to the AFL Grand Final in Perth last year.

McGowan stated that he sees no issue with senior ministers accepting gifts from a company seeking to purchase WA’s TAB, as they would seem “out of touch.”

Brad Pettitt, WA Greens MLC told Oliver Peterson onĀ Perth Live that there is no such thing as a free lunch or a free ticket anywhere.

“What it does is undermine good, independent decision making that’s in the interest of the whole of Western Australia, not just that particular party,” he told Oly.

“I think unfortunately what we keep seeing again and again, is the blurring of these lines – Things that would never be accepted in local government are now being accepted at a state level.”
