Star Fremantle defender Luke Ryan has joined Gareth Parker for the first of his regular Thursday morning chats at 7.15am on 6PR Breakfast throughout season 2022.

And true to form, the All-Australian defender did not come empty handed, revealing to listeners he was supportive of Luke Beveridge’s outburst in his post-match media conference on Wednesday night and that Rory Lobb had apologised to teammates after requesting a trade in the off-season.

Ryan was eagerly awaiting to see his family for the first time in almost two years in Adelaide this weekend when the Dockers face the Crows on Sunday.

But the 26-year-old revealed to Parker the Fremantle squad was ready to fire in 2022, its third year under coach Justin Longmuir, and two players in particular were primed for big years.

“Everyone’s been so good on the track but Andy’s (Brayshaw) had a massive pre-season, probably best on, even Caleb Serong, his running has gone up another level this season,” he said.
