More Australians are servicing their own cars than ever according to research conducted by YouGov.

The study found that 33 per cent of Australians are now servicing their own vehicles, with more than 55 per cent of vehicle users topping up or changing oil and oil filters.

However, Guy Musca from Swan Hill Automotives said servicing your own vehicles isn’t for everyone.

“If you don’t have any mechanical knowledge it can be dangerous yes,” he said.
