‘The show goes on’: Carnage at the Perth Cup

SUMMER BREAKFAST

A horse has died and two jockeys are lucky to be alive after a horror fall mid-race at the Perth Cup.

It’s the first accident since the Perth Cup started in 1887.

Perth Racing CEO James Oldring told 6PR Breakfast horse racing is a risky sport

“It’s a high-risk sport,” said Mr Oldring.

“It’s about if it’s safe for the sport to continue.”
