Qantas has beaten out global competition to be the most on-time airline with data from aviation analytics firm OAG showing 87.16 per cent of flights arrive within a 15-minute window of departure time.

Speaking to 6PR Breakfast hosts Karl Langdon and Will Schofield, aviation consultant Justin Wastnage said there is an art to Qantas’ success.

“What they’ve done is they’ve put in quite a bit of padding into their schedules to make sure you get there on time, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, you may think it’s a little bit sneaky but actually the inconvenience of being early is nothing compared to the inconvenience of being late,” he said.
