Alison Xamon, City of Vincent Mayor, explained to Perth Today host Simon Bailey that the council will commission an investigation to see if the e-scooters can be made safer.
“I think the concern that’s emerging is really how hire scooters are potentially used differently as opposed to people who own their own scooters.”
Simon then spoke to WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch about hire e-scooters.
“Sadly, there are some people who will not follow the rules, and I think if we’re seeing harm to our community, that’s where we must step in and say, ‘Well, it can’t happen here,'” he said.

The Police Commissioner also commented on the Combat Sports Commission’s decision to deny bare-knuckle fighting a permit.
“The police representative and police position is to not let it go ahead; that is our position, and I am happy to publicly say that,” he said.
