The organisation that uses running to help those suffering homelessness

The organisation On My Feet has identified running as a surprising solution to help those suffering homelessness.
Founder and CEO Keegan Crage wanted those less fortunate to experience the joys of running, and regularly sets out with a number of homeless people for runs around Fremantle.
The organisation donates all the equipment needed, including shoes, socks, shorts and shirts so they can participate.
He also helps those who join the program find work, through a “unique combination of exercise and education and volunteer work experience that leads to employment”.
“What we try and do in addition to setting goals, and giving them a structure and routine around the exercise, that not only improves physical and mental wellbeing is that we provide them with education,” he said on 6PR Mornings.
