There’s a new push to fix the nation’s roads with the government urged to redirect cash to repair potholes plaguing country roads.

Co-author of a report into the issue at the Grattan Institute, Dominic Jones, says the focus is on local roads which get people to work and school.

“They’re also really important for freight, because they form the start and the end of a lot of trips for the goods that we need,” he told Gary Adshead.
