The man who hasn’t missed being in a grand final crowd for over 65 years

A Victorian man has been to every AFL Grand Final since 1954 and he’s been left “heartbroken” after WA’s border closures put an end to his lifelong streak … or has it?
Peter Dell hopes to make this year his 70th Grand Final in 68 years (taking into account two replays in 1977 and 2010) but his G2G pass was rejected two days ago.
Speaking with Mark Gibson, Mr Dell said he still had “faint hope” he would make it to Perth.
“If I can get to Darwin sometime tomorrow, I could quarantine for 14 days and possibly fly to Perth on the morning of the Grand Final,” he said.
This is the same tactic the fierce Collingwood supporter used to make last year’s decider in Brisbane.
