‘That’s where it should be spent’: Lord Mayor on Perth parking levy war

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas has reinforced his stance on the Perth parking levy debate, stating that the money should be used for its intended purpose.
“When money is collected in a tax and legislated to say this money will be spent on transport initiatives within the City of Perth then that is exactly what it should be spent on,” Basil Zempilas told Gary Adshead.
Mr Zempilas said his door is open to meet with WA Transport Minister Rita Saffioti to settle the debate.

“I do not accept in any way shape of form that there is some level of ungratefulness from the City of Perth – but of course I will speak to the transport minister, she gets things done.”
